Cuts Both Ways

There is some exultation in the lefty blogosphere over Harry Reid's words about the support being given to Ned Lamont, particularly in light of Joe Lieberman's pig-headed refusal to rule out an independent run. He said:

It’s important for people to know that their actions have consequences.

I think I am the only one in the blogosphere who reads those words and sees a warning to Lamont's supporters as well as to Lieberman. Particularly when Reid said them twice - once for each side in the contest. I think this is pretty clear from the interview he gave Salon. He's not going to turn on a friend, but he's also not going to put up with turncoats. That cuts both ways. He's expecting the blogosphere to support whoever is the primary choice of Dem voters - whatever primary it may be.

Actions indeed have consequences.
